AMD Processor Issues

Over the last couple of months we have been made aware, by a small number of customers, that they were encountering problems installing SonoBat software onto their laptop computer. These problems only occurred on laptops with AMD processors. After some research it was discovered that several other graphics based software programs, utilising National Instruments LabView software, were also experiencing similar issues and a ‘fix’ has been published on the LabView support page. Based on this advice we have created a pdf guide on how to implement the settings changes on Windows 10 to allow LabView and hence SonoBat to install.

Macintosh Requirements:

OS X operating system, Intel processor with at least 2 GB of RAM, and about 120 MB of free disk space (more will be needed as you collect calls).

OS 11 Big Sur

SonoBat users have reported that after upgrading their Apple operating system to the latest OS 11 Big Sur  their SonoBat software fails on launch. The PDF shows the changes needed to enable SonoBat to run successfully.

SonoBatLIVE

For SonoBatLIVE we recommend the Microsoft Surface Pro with an i5 or i7 processor. Ideally a machine with 8 or 16GB RAM will perform best but 4GB is still acceptable.  Secondhand or refurbished Surface Pro 4s are widely available and are ideal for field use.

SonoBat LIVE will only work on Windows devices.  It will not run on Apple or Android devices.
